The Forming Friendship: Girl Genius Part 2 study guide seeks to answer the question: “How do I make—and keep—friendships that are pleasing to God and will last a lifetime?”

Girls have a natural genius for relationships—relationships with all types of people, including family members, girlfriends, classmates, and teammates, to name a few. Because of our girl genius we are naturally drawn to friendship. In fact, friendship helps us grow in our relationship with God, as the optimal relationship with God is one of true friendship! Our friends help orient us towards Christ and support us while we journey towards heaven. This study guide focuses on one aspect of a young woman’s girl genius in particular: her natural ability to form meaningful friendships—friendships that are marked with depth and love. During this study, the girls refer to papal writings to better understand friendship, and learn how to use their girl genius to be a good friend. They also develop an understanding of why Jesus is the perfect friend! Girls will discuss some of the things that can be a challenge within friendships, and lead to tarnished friendships including gossip, rumors, and peer pressure. They defy our girl genius and keep us from living a life rooted in love. As girls we have a genius for communication and reading emotion—using our intuition! We are called to act upon our girl genius in our relationships with others, in our drive to pray for others, and in our actions to help others.
Loving Leadership: Girl Genius Part 3
Loving Leadership: Girl Genius Part 3 seeks to answer the question: “How can I step up and be an authentic leader in my school, parish, and community?”

The goal of the third part in the series is to guide the girls in exploring their roles as Christ’s daughters, to define leadership, and to understand our need for humility in order to live out our girl genius as leaders in our school, church and home. The study guide helps girls to recognize that we were put on this earth to accomplish a mission that is specific to each one of us and to discover how we are each called to love others, to find out where our loyalties lie, and to make a decision for Christ as leaders in our world. Being an authentic leader means we help take care of the people under our charge. Humble leaders know their strengths and weaknesses and see their abilities as gifts from God. The girls are encouraged to set forth a plan of action to persevere in our faith life as Christian leaders and to train others to be Christian leaders. Being a Catholic leader requires us to continually look to Christ as our example of how to lead. As Christian leaders we need to be firmly committed to Christ. Making a decision to live for Christ is one that we have to make every day.
